Giving Back after the Ottawa Tornado
On Friday, September 25th, 2018 parts of our community were devastated by the 6 tornadoes that rolled through the Ottawa-Gatineau region. The neighbourhoods of Dunrobin and Craig Henry/Arlington Woods were hit especially hard and as a community, we continue to rally together to support those who need it most.
On Wednesday, October 3rd, members of the Royal LePage Team Realty family came together for the Annual Fall Classic Golf Tournament in support of The Dunrobin Tornado Victims & Relief Fund. It was a great success and an incredible day; all in all, $12,500 was raised for this great cause.
If you are interested in helping out, there are a few options:
Monetary donations can be made to the Red Cross. This organization is working to coordinate emergency relief efforts and money will be used to respond to the immediate and emerging needs and to support those affected to recover from this disaster in and around Ottawa.
Donations of clothing, furniture, or other household items can be made at Salvation Army Thrift Stores or you can request the pick up of larger items by calling 613-247-1435.
If you are interested in lending a helping hand with clean up, check in with the Trend Arlington Community Association. Based out of the hard hit Arlington Woods, they have had ongoing needs for volunteers to assist with the clean up.
