At Royal LePage Team Realty, community is a priority. Kent and Mary Browne hold charity close to their hearts and their hard work is apparent throughout the many fundraisers and initiatives held throughout the year.
On Tuesday, May 8th, 2018 our Royal LePage Team Realty team came together for the annual Denim Tuesday Breakfast and Charity Auction. Started in 2001, it is the company’s biggest charitable event of the year and it brings everyone together to raise money for Breast cancer charities. Prior to this year’s event, Kent Browne, Broker of Record/Owner at Royal LePage Team Realty, added “To date we have raised over $500,000 for local charities! The new breast health centre at the Ottawa Hospital is a core recipient of the funds we raised. We recently had the ‘Royal LePage Mammogram and Ultrasound Room’ named in your honour in recognition of your support.”
This event is always successful, and this year was no exception. We are pleased to announce that the total fund raised at the breakfast event from both live and silent auctions plus donations was an incredible $52,000! Adding in our donations from the events on May 8th, brings us to a total of over $602,000 since 2001.
As mentioned above, the largest portion of the funds raised this year will be given directly to the Ottawa Hospital Breast Health Centre. Another portion of the proceeds will be donated to Camp Trillium which offers year-round recreational experiences to bring children with cancer and their families together.
This event was a huge success and a big thank you must go to the organizers: Julie Sangster, Karen Pynn, and the rest of the committee. We look forward to another amazing event next year!
